Meet Samantha

Samantha Hansen started YGI Services to help small businesses grow. How? By leveraging their people – the most valuable asset of any company. However, employees are only as strong as the processes in which they operate.

Have you ever experienced this scenario: The team is full of smart, capable people. The same work is being done in multiple business areas, and in some cases, no work is being done at all. Why? Because people aren’t sure what responsibilities belong to who. They’re taking on the work that interests them the most, or the work they think will have the most impact. How can we get the work done without redundancy, confusion, and frustration? Through simple, clearly defined processes.

Now, you have the processes. Are your people equipped to step up and make decisions, manage others, or collaborate? This is where the professional development portion of YGI Services comes in – supporting individuals, teams, hiring committees, and more to bring in the best people and build them up throughout their time at the organization.

Samantha grew up on a farm in central Wisconsin and loved the idea of running a business like her dad someday. She also had a passion for psychology and wasn’t sure how those two could mesh. After a few episodes of Mad Men, Samantha chose to pursue advertising at the University of Minnesota. Bonus points – she was paying for college herself and could finish this degree in three years.

During jobs across several fields ranging from government agencies, health insurance, advertising, and consulting, Samantha experienced many leadership styles, processes (or lack thereof), and work environments. She earned a master’s degree in Industrial/Organizational Psychology (basically workplace psychology) from the Harvard Extension School, finally merging her love of business and psychology.
